Pseudomonas alkaline protease

The Pseudomonas alkaline protease is a zinc metalloprotease of the "metzincin" family. In addition to the protease domain, the molecule has a beta sheet domain that includes a calcium-binding parallel beta roll. The sequence signature of the beta roll, a nonapeptide that includes a "GXXGXD" signature, is found in a spectrum of proteins that are secreted via a type I secretion system.
