P. aeruginosa elastase

The Pseudomonas elastase is a zinc metalloprotease of the thermolysin family. Crystallographic studies have revealed that in absence of substrate or inhibitor, the molecule has an "open" enzymatic cleft; when substrate\inhibitor binds, the cleft closes.
